Overview of Press Types
AIM Joraco® offers various types of presses to address the diverse needs of many industries and manufacturing processes. Our DIRECT-AIRE®, TOGGLE-AIRE®, and HYDRO-AIRE® press series each have unique strengths. When selecting a press it is important to understand the differences between press types to determine the best fit for your application.
DIRECT-AIRE®
Our DIRECT-AIRE® series pneumatic presses offer a relatively low force press option that applies a constant force over the full length of the stroke. They are ideal for applications where a specific amount of force must be applied rather than pressing to a set dimension.
TOGGLE-AIRE®
Rather than pressing with a set force our TOGGLE-AIRE® series pneumatic presses are able to press to a set shut height with high precision, applying only as much force as needed to reach that shut height. This makes the TOGGLE-AIRE® series ideal for applications with tight dimensional tolerances.
HYDRO-AIRE®
Our HYDRO-AIRE® series pneumatic presses use a hydro-pneumatic cylinder to achieve high force output. When pressing they begin with a rapid advance stroke until meeting resistance, then automatically switch to a power stroke to apply force. The power stroke automatically begins when the press meets resistance, so pressing further than the length of the power stroke can easily be achieved by cycling the press multiple times.
